Jeff and I went to Greensburg, KS today with loads of toys in tow.  We wanted to drop off some toys and take photos of the devastated Greensburg.  I met a FEMA employee who told me that stuffed animals were needed.  We used funds from Project Storm Relief to purchase many, many toys and stuffed animals to use, not only for this trip but for our coming up chase season.  Thank YOU to all who have made purchases through the TwisterChasers store...100% of the proceeds go to fund Project Storm Relief and we are forever thankful to those of you who appreciate my designs and helping the children affected by severe weather events.

Jeff and I met a resident of Greensburg, KS  Mrs. Maxine Nash.  The night the tornado struck her home she wasn't feeling well and went down into the basement where her TV and nice comfortable couch were.  She fell asleep....the next thing she knew a neighbor was yelling her name, calling out to her if she were alright.  Bless her heart can you imagine waking up to your house destroyed?  She is staying with her son, who lives in Hutchinson, and they came back today to sift through some salvagable belongings.  Her son found a family bible and handed it to her.  It was a beautiful old bible...I think someone is watching over Maxine!

And in the midst of it all small signs of life.  A lone dove flew from torn branch to branch cooing for their mate...a small squirrel sat on a branch, this grouping of finches gathered in a stripped bush.  And leaves sprouting from the devastated trees.
