We were storm chasing around OKC most of the day waiting for the cap to break. The cap was too strong, we watched tower after tower try to break the cap on the Northeast side of OKC. The parameters were shifting into Southeast Kansas and Northeastern Oklahoma...5000 + capes moving Northeast...storms were developing in eastern Kansas ahead of the dryline....we decided to go to Osage County, OK where storms began developing near dark...we intercepted a couple of storms near Bartlesville, OK....supercells tracked east toward Nowata...a high based funnels was spotted by local spotters and a tornado warning was issued. The extreme cap kept the storms from getting totally out of control, but we did see some beautiful lightning from these storms.
